Returns and Refunds

We do not accept returns or offer refunds should you be unhappy with the book, package or design. Please do ensure that you are happy with the book and wait time when pre-ordering.

We inspect all books before sending them out, however should you feel that your book may have some form of an issue, please contact us within 7 days of the delivery date and we will assess each case individually. For issues with damaged parcels we will assess each case individually. For issues with damaged parcels due to the shipping process, please see damaged shipments below.

Taxes and Customs Fees

Customers have the option to pay VAT and duties at checkout (for countries where applicable), or to not pay at checkout and instead pay upon arrival into their country. Customers who opt not to pay at checkout are responsible for all taxes and customs fees associated with their orders. The shipping company will contact you to arrange payment for any applicable taxes or customs fees before delivery. The Book Cove is not responsible for any fees or duties upon delivery. Should a package be returned to us due to lack of tax and duty payments, no refunds will be provided and shipping fees back to us will fall upon the customer.

Please note that there are some countries where no VAT and duties will apply, and this is stated at checkout.

Shipping Times

Books will be delivered to South African customers within 7 days from the date of shipment. International customers can expect delivery within 14 days of shipment. Shipment occurs once books arrive at our offices, which typically takes 8-14 weeks from pre-orders (this will be stated upon announcements, as well as the product order pages).

International Shipping

We ship internationally to approximately 50 different countries. If your country is not on our list, please contact us at [email protected] and we will see if we can assist. However, please note that we may not be able to service your area. In this event, we recommend exploring consolidation services that can ship from South Africa to your country if necessary.

Should we be unable to service your area, you can look into a forwarding service such as Shop and Ship, powered by Aramex. These services give you a South African address to ship your books to, and will then forward it to your country.

Please note that we are NOT in any form partnered with Shop and Ship, or any other forwarding services. Making use of these services is entirely at the customer's own risk, and research beforehand is encouraged. Should there be any damages to shipments, or losses, when utilizing these services (past the point of the South African address) you will need to liaise with the service themselves. We are unable to replace or refund items damaged or missing when utilizing these.

Damaged Shipments

We take great care in packaging your orders and once the box leaves our offices, it is out of our control. If your box arrives damaged, this will have occurred during shipping transit. In this event, please contact us at [email protected] and we will look into the matter with the shipping company. All shipments are fully insured.

Lost Shipments

Should more than 30 days have passed with no update to your shipment’s tracking, and no delivery, please contact us at [email protected] and we will look into the matter with the shipping company. All shipments are fully insured. Loss due to incorrect addresses entered from the customer's side, will not be further investigated.
